Dion Mayne’s dream of writing and publishing historical novels has been realised under the mentorship of his former principal Paul Richardson. Boomerang Gold, Dion’s first novel has created larger-than-life characters hell-bent on privateering, a lust for blood and a hunger for gold in the late 16th Century.
The second novel, Masquerade Gold, is a prequel to BG and based in Europe, mid 16th Century, where the Spanish Empire is the dominant World Power and espionage amongst their rivals is rife.

The more I read this book, the more I liked it. I read it in 2 days, and honestly couldn't put it down on day 2 until I finished it. Quite brutal at times. Saddens me to think that this probably really was how people acted, and treated those that they thought were inferior to them. Glad to see the "bad guys" get what they deserved. Hope to see more books from Dion and Paul.

Was apprehensive to read this book as I was told about the violence in it but so glad I chose to read it.Great plot and characters and with the research that must have been done, it really has stuck true to how it would have been back then.I really liked how engaging the characters were and wanted to see how the story evolved and climaxed.For those that are intrigued in Historical Fiction, highly recommend Boomerang Gold and be warned it is gruesome but at the same time it brings you in more, wondering what is around the corner for all involved.Easy to read and visualize locations, well done to the authors.Finished within 2days, was a good recommendation!
